Android applications can be developed both in the Eclipse IDE and in the Android
Studio IDE. Although the Android Studio is an officially supported IDE, the
Eclipse IDE is not losing relevance due to its flexibility in the development of Java
based applications on a wide range of uses.
A support for the development of Android applications in Eclipse is provided by
an Eclipse plugin Android Development Tools (ADT)
The ADT plugin helps to create an Android project, to develop a UI interface of an
application based on the Android Framework API, to debug an Android
application and prepare a signed .apk file for publishing.
